Research by eMarketer has predicted that mobile commerce in the UK, Germany and France is going to grow strongly over the next year. M-commerce is set to reach £43 billion in the UK this year, accounting for 46% of all e-commerce sales in the country. In Germany, it is expected to hit €28 billion and 39% of all e-commerce sales, and in France it is predicted to be €18 billion and 32% of all e-commerce sales. The growth rates are particularly impressive for France, with m-commerce sales set to rise by 27% compared to last year. By comparison, the growth rates in the UK and Germany are 10% and 15% respectively. With the numbers of mobile shoppers rising in all three countries, businesses targeting these markets would be wise to optimise their websites for mobile.
