The Chinese search engine Baidu has released its figures for Q3 2017. It revealed that it saw its net income for the quarter grow by a staggering 156% year-on-year to 7.9 billion yuan. Online marketing revenues rose by 22% year-on-year to 20.1 billion yuan for the quarter. This was driven primarily by mobile revenues, which accounted for 73% of the total. Baidu is currently transitioning from being a search and marketing company to being a technology company driven by mobile and AI. Robin Li, Baidu's CEO, commented on the Q3 results, saying: “In the third quarter, we made good progress in our strategic pillars to strengthen our mobile foundation and lead in AI”.
